Out and about

Just a few errands today. Went to California Pizza Kitchen today, and it was not good. Their quality seems to have slipped since last we were there, and the service was extremely inattentive. Also, they've changed their veggie focaccia sandwich, which used to be my fave menu item -- I liked the old one much better. About the only thing this sandwich has in common with the old one is the bread. :/ Told our server that I liked the old version better, and he said "yeah, a lot of people say that." Then why don't they change it back? *sigh* I know: it's unlikely the information ever gets past the servers.

Tried searching for a small square of hard plastic to put under the wine fridge, to no avail. We did find the cat a new scratching post, so that will be her Christmas present, and cheapo tins of holiday popcorn at Office Depot for $3.74. Woohoo, as we're just about out of the fancy stuff we got from goodjoan.

Looked for sheets at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but they are not on sale, and are mucho expensive for king deep-pocket. Also looked for a small space heater for David at work, but the ones they had were too large. I miss Homeplace. They were so much better than Bed, Bath and Beyond. I mean, BBB is okay, but it's like they have one of everything -- not multiples, so you can compare brands.

Best of all: we purchased tickets for Return of the King for 12/17 at 8 pm.

I love Tuesday Morning, I just never seem to get over there. I should make the effort. I always find treasures there, even if I don't find sheets.

BRILLIANT idea on Home Depot! *smacks self on head* Why didn't I think of that? Joan, how is it you always have the right answer for everything? Good grief, it's almost like having my Mom actually able to use the internet! :)

BTW, the chocolate caramel popcorn was a huge hit. If the troop does it again next year, let me know -- I gave some of it to my sister and her husband, and she found it quite addictive.

As for RotK, I wouldn't get too broken up over it. So far, every single EE edition has been far better than the theatrical release. I was --amazed-- at how much they cut out of Two Towers. And seeing it on DVD, you don't have to deal with the cinemuck under your shoes! :D

The pack sells popcorn every year as our one and only fundraiser. I will be sure to let you know next year! The chocolate popcorn is a terrible sin! They sell it by itself but it's in a much much too small container! We got the pecan carmal corn and it was gone within hours!

You have a point about the DVD! I suppose I miss the lines and the crowds and get the full cut of the movie, but I get it all months after everyone else has already seen it and there's no oversalted greasy theater popcorn! I don't even remember the last movie I saw in the theater that wasn't rated G or PG! I know the last movie I saw in the theater was Spy Kids 2 in 3D, but that doesn't count. And I watched "Adaptation" with Nicholas Cage last night and really enjoyed it but again, not in the theater and sorely lacking in popcorn!

*grins* Don't worry 'bout seeing it months after. I am always willing to discuss Tolkien. If you post about it in your journal, you'll get feedback from yours truly. Promise. Probably more than you want. *giggles* You'll be making the Demosthenian "out of time" flappy hand gesture at me. :)
