Tried a new restaurant: KC Pit BBQ

Located just about at the intersection of Hildebrand and Roswell Road, KC Pit BBQ was a pleasant little surprise this afternoon when my husband and I tried it for lunch. I had the chopped pork and Brunswick stew; he had a two meat combo (beef and pork) with a side of macaroni and cheese, all of which was clearly homemade (no Kraft mac & cheese, thank goodness). Portions are generous, and the staff was very pleasant and friendly, especially Missy. The interior is a pleasant eating environment: light woods, white walls, and plenty of windows. Missy recommended the baked beans, and next time, I'll order them: we tasted a little sample, and they were very good, with smoky bits of barbecued beef infiltrating the tangy sauce. Also, they give out free "frequent flyer" cards, where they punch your card each time you visit and you get your tenth meal free.

Their dessert menu looked great, but we were so stuffed from our meals that we couldn't order any -- indeed, we had leftovers to take home. I consider that much meat a decent bargain for under $20 for the two of us. I also liked that they had their sauces readily available in dispensing pumps. The place was also clean and neat when we arrived. They also deliver within a 5-mile radius of the restaurant.

In my opinion, it's not quite as good as Williamson Bros., but it's still quite tasty, and it is much more conveniently located for me.
