Planet of the Apes = not good

Saw the 2001 Planet of the Apes today. Not good. It's like they couldn't decide which ending to use, so they used them all, and not to good effect. Tim Roth, who is normally a decent actor, overacted tremendously in his part. I think he was suffering from "Profion Syndrome," and that he and Jeremy Irons need to go hide for a while to let their careers recover. Wahlberg was fine; Helena Bonham Carter was good.

Before it, we had lunch at the mall, and did something I do about twice a decade, maybe: we went to Godiva and bought a treat or two. Two candy bars, and two truffles. Mmm, chocolate marzipan almond. Tasty. I am not even remotely a chocoholic. It really holds no lure, no seduction for me: given a choice between chocolate decadence and a coconut cake, I'd go for the coconut cake 99% of the time. However, I do occasionally get in the mood for it, and Godiva is worth it. If I'm going to consume the calories, then they'd better taste damned good. :)
