... and for me, this is one of those times.

Church ordered to pay $10.9 million for funeral protest

I just can't believe these people don't realize that there are some things one simply does not do. Honestly, I really can only believe that they are genuinely mentally disordered in some fashion, to be so utterly lacking in any sense of shame or decency.

You are dealing with the 'God Hates Fags' church. Logic and even scripture, does not enter into their minds. They are a completely insane bunch who seem to miss the entire New Testament when Jesus said silly little things like 'love they neighbor' and sought to save people through love and compassion.

I have a friend who attends a church in Boston that has an ex-gay program. They reach out to Christians who struggle with homosexuality and embrace them, trying to help them through their "struggle with sin" through love and support. I don't agree with the underlying message (i.e. homosexuality is wrong), but they go about it in the best way possible. These 'God hates Fags' nutters showed up, in Boston, to protest this Church because they weren't hating on teh gayz and therefore were a 'false Church'. You have to really be going out of your way to protest something that ultimately has the same end point as you because they're doing it in a less violent and hateful way.
It makes me mad, because all the money going into the protests could have fed, clothed, and helped so many homeless, sick, and destitute.

People make me sad :(

Hai, you! Glad to see you. I liked your wig! I know it was meant to be retro silly, but you actually looked rather fabulous!

Perhaps Judith Martin should consider founding a church based on one commandment: Thou Shalt Not Be Rude. I agree that you seriously have to be going out of your way if you're protesting someone with the same end point as you because you don't like the way they're doing it. *shakes head*

Ugh. Phelps. Kansas has produced a lot of backwards thinking, ignornat and hateful people to be ashamed of, but the Phelps family is one of the most embarassing things the state can lay claim to. I don't condone many Christians intolerance of gays, but they look positively warm and loving compared to Westboro Baptist Church, whom seem to hate just for hatered's sake.
