I am taking a mental health day.

I may or may not play World of Warcraft.
I may or may not crochet.
I may or may not watch my Julia Child DVD from Netflix.
I may or may not make pumpkin chocolate muffins.
If I get really jazzed, I may or may not clean up the place a bit.

I may well go back to bed for a little nap.

If you're curious, here's the muffin recipe:

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup water
1/2 cup oil
2 eggs
1 cup pumpkin (squash)
1 cup chocolate chips

Combine all dry ingredients and toss together. Add remaining ingredients except chips and blend well. Stir in chips.

Spoon into muffin - paper lined pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-27 minutes. Makes 2 dozen.

Good for you!

Thanks for the recipe, it reminds me of a story my mother tells me about cookies my gram sent her in college. They were an interesting combination too.

I feel so much better. I did make the muffins: they're baking right now. I've never made this recipe before, so we'll see how they turn out.

Wonderful! I have off Friday and I have to remember to not go crazy doing stuff. How did the muffins turn out?

I'm glad you have Friday off! I think you deserve and need it!

The muffins are surprisingly good! I just ate two of them. They're the sort of thing where you eat one and say "Hmm, this is rather good, I think I'll have another just to make sure it's as good as I think it is ... hmm, yes, quite."

I'm especially pleased because baked goods are not my strong point.

I definitely need Friday off because this past week has been an emotional shitstorm for me.

Yay to your muffins! I love it when I accomplish something in cooking, which is why I was so pleased with my 1st pulled pork. I still appreciate the advice. :-)

Well, for what it's worth, I think you made the right decision for you about it.

:D Yay for the pork -- I just wish I could've had a little taste! Pork is my favorite meat. (Well, okay, escargot is technically probably my favorite, but I get so precious little of that, I'll just count what's typically available.) :)

I didn't plan taking off Friday it just worked out that way.

I would swap pull pork for a muffin if I could. ;-)
