That pesky informed consent thing

Blood substitute given to patients without their consent


On average, an adult human body contains about six quarts of blood. Except now some folks have Polyheme, too, with no information on what the long-term effects of that in the body might be.

Don't get me wrong: a blood substitute is needed, given how frequently the supply runs short. However, there's a right way and a wrong way to go about it.
