I think canopic_no_9 may like these, and that lsbd33 probably won't.

Unless my dentist is running really behind, I should be able to make it there by 1:15 or so without difficulty, and there's every possibility it could be earlier, assuming he's running on time. If he is running behind, I will call you from his office.

Sound good? :)

saturday
works for me :)

call when you're almost at my house, please :)

don't forget to bring your pastry cutter...
we're going to make muffins and pie crust...let me know what kind of muffins & what kind of pie you want to make. we have to make sure we have the ingredients on hand...(meat pie or sweet pie, or just pie crust itself to freeze and re-thaw to use later...)

Re: saturday
Will do.

*packs pastry cutter*

Anything else I should bring? KA cookbook, anything? :)

I will be glad to run by the grocery store Fri. night if there's anything I need to pick up to bring, I just need to know what. :)

Hmmm . . . I -could- bring the Jane Washington's Secret Pie recipe (it's essentially a chocolate chess pie). Though making pie crust to freeze for later is a cool idea, too, no pun intended. :) Or a coconut custard pie. Or . . . what would YOU like to make? You're the instructor, I'm just the pupil. :)

This is going to be so neat!

Re: saturday
am looking forward to tomorrow. *grin*
and, yes, i have a recipe for coconut custard pie. (14 oz can sweetened condensed milk, 8 oz flaked coconut - are ingredients you have to bring, i have the rest, which are just spices and eggs)
if you want to make a coconut custard pie, which is really easy, you will make a double pie crust, so you'll only use one crust and save the other. for an apple pie, you need both pie crusts and 6 tart-sweet apples (like granny smith). there's also pumpkin pie, which requires sweetened condensed milk & canned pumpkin.

oh - for the pie crust, please bring crisco sticks, if you forget, i have some, i just want you to be able to find them in the grocery store. the come in plain and butter flavor. i, personally, prefer the butter flavor, but it's up to your preference. plus, with the butter flavor, it's easier to tell when you have thoroughly blended the flour and the crisco b/c the color changes...

this first time, you might try a one-crust pie - and, if you like, i can show you how i make my cream cheese crust for apple pie - it makes the best apple pie you've ever had.... :)

ok - so, in summary - why don't we make 2 pies - i'll make an apple pie, including crust, you make a coconut custard, including crust. that should be enough for a first session. :)

(ps - my mom's favorite is coconut custard and i made this for her birthday in february...)

I can't comment on the flash thingy, cause I'm at work, but I want to say I love your new user icon.

The "this booty" one? :) Thanks! I got it from a Firefly icon community. There's actually a series like that, with the different characters talking with Zoe.
