At the Movies

Although 2005 hasn't brought any real blockbusters yet, seems like there's some potential in upcoming releases. Here are some possible candidates:

Sin City April 1st
I wouldn't know about this one if it weren't for tagplazen, but now that I'm aware of this noir offering, I'm definitely looking forward to it.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy April 29th
Marvin really doesn't look right in the trailer. I'm preparing myself for disappointment, but I can't not see it.

Kingdom of Heaven May 6th
Ridley Scott's new one. Looks like a high quality cast. Liam Neeson's in it.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith May 20th
I have almost reached the point of not caring (and remember, I hosted a fan panel on this), but I'm sure I'll see it for completion's sake.

Batman Begins June 17th
I know next to nothing about Christian Bale, but it has Liam Neeson in it.

War of the Worlds July 1st
Spielberg and Cruise. We'll see what happens.
Fantastic Four July 8th
I'm a bit pessimistic given the reports I've heard, and I think Jessica Alba is a lightweight, but I do want to see Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm, so I'll likely sit through it.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory July 15th
I'm actually kind of torn about this because I love the original, but I think if anyone can do it, it's probably Johnny Depp.
The Island July 22nd
Good cast including Ewan McGregor, Djimon Hounsou, and Sean Bean.
The Brothers Grimm July 29th
Directed by Terry Gilliam. Monica Belluci, Jonathan Pryce and Matt Damon star.

Aeon Flux August 12th
This property has been delayed for so long and has changed hands enough times that I'm quite curious to see what's finally emerged. Put it this way: I first bid on it back in the very early days of HSX.
Valiant August 19th
Animated comedy with loads of star power: Ewan McGregor, Ricky Gervais, Tim Curry, John Cleese, Jim Broadbent and more.
Zu Warriors August 19th
I know nothing about this save that Ziyi Zhang is in it.

A Scanner Darkly September 16th
Philip K. Dick piece from the guy who did Waking Life, which I still want to see.
Serenity September 30th
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! Bring back the Browncoats!

Unknown point in 2005
It's Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean, teamed up with the Jim Henson Company. Of course I'm going to see it.
