Want more Mulholland

I saw Mulholland Drive, and I rather liked it. The only problem is that I feel a little cheated, but that's not Lynch's fault, that's the stupid network. What I don't understand is why he even considered working with ABC again in the first place. I mean, he knew how they had their hands in the pie with Twin Peaks, so I'm not sure what in the world persuaded him to work with them again. Maybe he still knew a few people from the last time around, I don't know. Anyway, I saw Mulholland and liked it, but now I want the series the way it was supposed to be, which is precisely what I ain't gonna get. The movie isn't perfect - there is a definite point where one can clearly see what was pilot and what was added to finish it, but it's full of Lynchly goodness: curtains, blue, twinning, and more.

I have absolutely no clue what you're refering to. :) I recognized "Lynch" and "Twin Peaks". :) Is this TP related? :p

*boingys up and out the window waiting for a clue to magically appear on the clue tree so he can snatch it up* ;)

No! Eeet iz MY stream of consciousness! You cannot have eet! ;)

Seriously, it was originally supposed to be a TV pilot and then a series, but ABC screwed Lynch over this time even worse than they did with Twin Peaks: they didn't even air the pilot. Frustrated, Lynch found a way to make it into a movie, which won him Best Director at the Cannes Film Fest, I believe. It's currently in limited release in the US, but if you haven't seen it, go quick 'cause I have my doubts it will be around for long, judging from the fact that there were around 8 of in the theater last night. :/ Liked some of the previews I saw - some interesting indie stuff.

Ooooo! Sounds neat. :)

Okay, I won't buy groceries for a week and i'll ... no wait. That won't work. :/ Blah. Maybe when I visit you'll have found a copy of it on the net. ^__^

You might have to cover your eyes near the end: it has nekkid wimmen suddenly appearing in it, after being lulled into a sense of Nancy Drew-ness, too. ;) Caught me by surprise, but then, Ned Nickerson never was around very much anyway, and there was some butch/femme subtext for her girlfriends George and Bess, now that I think about it. ;)
