Valley of the Dolls

I tried Netflix's on-demand feature on Monday: Valley of the Dolls was my test subject.

I know the movie retains camp value with certain audiences, but for me, it was kind of an interesting historical viewing, because I'd never seen anything with Sharon Tate in it. It put a face to the name I'd heard about in association with the Manson murders.

Overall, though,I found it to be a soapy, dated artifact of the late Sixties.

Scott here
Soapy, dated artifact or one of the greatest films ever.

Or at least a great excuse to froth with melodrama, shouting, "My name is Neely! Neely O'Hara!"

Either way.

Re: Scott here
*grins* I'll admit that some of Patty Duke's moments were pretty fun, and I really liked Susan Hayward in the Helen Lawson/Ethel Merman role. The catty wig scene in the restroom seems made for a drag show. :) It was the Anne Welles storyline that dragged a bit -- I got tired of her tedious, forgettable Lyon.

Heh. :) I knew about Dr. Horrible, but hadn't seen the Miis.

Speaking of television content in gaming, have you gotten any peeks at the Stargate MMO?

Not yet, but I'm gearing up for E3 now. Maybe they'll have something there.
