Galactica's last season

From this post in battlestar_blog:

Fourth season to be Battlestar Galactica's last

Add this one to the ever-lengthening list of shows I've watched and liked that didn't get to tell their story in full on their own terms and time. I'm wondering if I'll ever get to be a fan of a show that does get to see its story to fruition. In these days of quick axes, if a show of Battlestar's quality can't make it, that possibility seems increasingly improbable.

Addendum: I love this Urban Dictionary entry (spoiler for early S3): The Adama Maneuver

5/13 - further addendum: Sci Fi says that BSG isn't ending (Yay!)

Hmm. I'm of two minds on this. While I agree that it should ideally end because Ronald Moore and David Eick decided to end it. On othe other hand, I had mixed feelings on season 3 (great start, good episodes here and there, but overall lacking the edge it once had), and would rather see end it after four seasons then sputter out into mediocrity.

Four seasons for genre television isn't bad. I'd like for it to go on a little longer, but compared to something like Firefly it's had a pretty good run.

I'm feeling like five would probably be just about perfect to tell the story in full, but I think they can do it in four seasons without it feeling too rushed.

Firefly unquestionably deserved much more time than it got.
